AWWA Scholarship Opportunities
AWWA Scholarships
AWWA awards fourteen scholarships annually. The application deadline for most of the scholarships is Jan. 15. AWWA posts new application forms every summer. Provides funding for students attending one of many outstanding Environmental Engineering programs across the nation, in return for a 2-year employment commitment.

- EPA STAR Fellowships
EPA’s STAR graduate fellowship program supports master’s and doctoral candidates in environmental studies.
Support: $42,000 per year per fellowship. Master's level students may receive support for a maximum of two years for a total of up to $84,000. Doctoral students may be supported for a maximum of three years for a total of up to $126,000, usable over a period of five years.
- National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)
The Graduate Research Fellowship provides three years of support for graduate study leading to research-based master’s or doctoral degrees and is intended for students who are in the early stages of their graduate study.
