Grant Application Now Open: Hach Water Quality Equipment Grant for High School Students
Applications are now open for the Hach Water Quality Equipment Grant, designed to support high school students in developing research projects for the USA Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition. This grant provides access to high-quality water testing equipment, empowering students to explore real-world environmental challenges through hands-on science. Last year, 20 students received equipment, and several went on to win state SJWP competitions — including the national winner! The application takes just 15–20 minutes to complete and must be submitted by October 24, 2025. Awardees will be notified by November 7, and equipment will be shipped directly to schools. The link to the application can be found on WEF’s website HERE. Please share this opportunity with teachers and students in your network — let’s help more young scientists dive into water research!
What is this grant for?
The purpose of the HACH Water Quality Equipment grant is to increase high school student access to excellent water quality testing equipment for the purposes of creating a research project for the USA Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) competition. Research project submission deadline is April 15th, 2026. Students may apply for the Hach Water Quality Equipment Grant with support from their teacher and parent(s)/guardian to request water quality testing equipment that supports the completion of their planned research project. Awarded products will be shipped to the school to the attention of the teacher. After projects are complete, the awarded products are expected to be kept by the teacher to be made available to other students with future projects.
