More than 30% of water resource recovery facility operators are 55 or older, according to Brookings Institution (Washington, D.C.) estimates. With countless decades of institutional knowledge set to leave the frontlines of the field in the coming years, utilities are trying to find ways to attract and retain the next generation of workers.
